First Holy Communion this year will take place on 5 different Sundays. To sign up for your mass you can sign up at the front desk during religious education class time or you can call the office at 972-875-9650 ext 214 or you may also send an e-mail to stacyg@stjohncc.net.

Novena to Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius

Remember, O Almighty Father, the moment when, in accordance with your will, the “fullness of time” arrived for these peoples and nations.  When these holy Missionaries, Saints Cyril and Methodius, faithfully fulfilled the command that your Son, Jesus Christ, has entrusted to His Apostles; following in their footsteps, they brought into the lands inhabited by the Slavs the light of the Gospel, the Catholic Faith.

O Lord, grant our personal requests, (mention in silence your personal need) and through this Novena, may we at St. John Nepomucene Parish, built upon the faith of many of our immigrant families from Czechoslovakia, pray with Venerable John Paul II, the Pope of Slav origin, and receive your graces and favors.

Through the intercession of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, may God grant that we of many ancestries, may continue the work of Christ through His Church, in our lives, our families and all peoples and may we have strength to overcome all hatred and to conquer all evil with good.

Amen.

This 8 week seminar will give you practical skills for managing your money, for saving and investing, for getting out of debt, and in many other areas that will help you to improve your family’s financial health.

This seminar will meet on Wednesday nights from 7:00 – 8:30 PM in room 101 in the Compound.

Spaces in this seminar are strictly limited, so call Seth Wright at the Parish Office for more information and to register.  Only 10 people will be in each seminar.  If the Wednesday seminar fills up and there is enough interest, we will open a Thursday seminar.

Buses

Our parish has rented two buses to take us to the events.  In addition to the teens who are going there is room for 80 people to ride the buses and attend.  Please call or drop by the Parish Office to sign up to ride on the buses.

Schedule

8:00 AM – meet in the parking lot at St. John Nepomucene to board the buses to go to the Roe Memorial Mass and walk

10:00 AM – Roe Memorial Mass: In memory of the more than 52 million babies who have died and in prayer for the mothers and fathers who have been hurt by abortion, a bilingual Mass will be concelebrated by the Most Reverend Kevin J. Farrell, Bishop of Dallas; the Most Reverend Kevin W. Vann, Bishop of Fort Worth; Dallas Auxiliary Bishops Doug Deshotel and Mark Seitz; and diocesan clergy at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, 2215 Ross Ave. at Pearl St., Dallas, with homilist Fr. Jason Cargo and music led by Curtis Stephan.  Following Mass will be Eucharistic Adoration and the annual Dallas March for Life and Ecumenical Rally outside the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse, housing the district court where the Roe v. Wade case was first filed in 1970.  Bishop Farrell would like for as many families and young people as possible in the Diocese to participate in this great witness for Life!  Bring your family-friendly signs and club or school banner for the Dallas March for Life!

3:00 PM – Arrive back at St. John Nepomucene
